Youth Awareness Environmental Forum (YAEF/Nepal) is a community based non-profit media membership organization, established in 1994 A.D. This YAEF is registered according to law of press and publication act 2049 B.S. This YAEF is an association which is concerned with motivate environmental awareness in the masses and perform social work. It is not a normal NGO but a medium of communication as well as an organizational forum.
YAEF/Nepal is the member of International Union for Conservation of Nature(IUCN), South Asia Youth Environment Network (SAYEN), and World Water Council (WWC), affiliated with United Nation Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and Global Water Partnership (GWP). The forum is also member of the World Association of Community Radio Broadcaster (AMARC). The forum has established a Women Division which is also member of the World Association of Community Radio Broadcaster (AMARC)’s Women International Networks (WIN) and International Association of Women in Radio and Television (IAWRT). The forum has conducted several programs as co-partner of Children and Youth/Sports and Environment Unit (UNEP).
Youth Awareness Environmental Forum is established Youth Climate Change Alliance YCCA/Nepal. Youth Climate Change Alliance/Nepal is a coalition of Nepali Youth and Youth Groups tackling climate change, the biggest challenge of our generation.
• Invite and assist the government of Nepal to develop a bold and comprehensive national Climate and Energy Action Plan that will consider national net GHG emissions reductions and adaptation strategies as well as strategies to move Nepal towards a clean, just, renewable and prosperous energy future.
• Improve scientific understanding of global warming impacts and adaptation needs in Nepal
• Share local and indigenous knowledge about sustainable living practices
YCCA is inspiring, educating, empowering and mobilizing diverse Nepalese youth to create a future that is economically prosperous, environmentally sustainable,
Youth’s voices are largely absent from all policy discussions and negotiations on Climate Change despite the fact that there are immense adverse effects of climate change on Youth. Youth bear more pressure to provide for the family yet their access to already scarce resources are further complicated by the intersectional of their gender with caste, class, age, ethnicity and other social categories. Natural resource management is also dominated by men with limited Youth’s participation.
The Youth Climate Change Alliance/Nepal broadcasts Climate Change related slogan time and now and one hour safe and awareness climate change program daily through Environmental Cycle Radio FM (ECR FM) 104.2MHz .We are published monthly environmental magazine.
Climate Change in Nepal
. Climate change is the not only problem of a nation , it is a big trouble of the world which we faced day by day .Two years ago, Only few leaders know about the Climate Change but Today, it should know all over the world. Most of the nations and their citizens are unaware about the Climate Change and its consequences. It shows its effects all over
the earth, Nepal also not far away from its dark sides . Being the developing country , Nepal has various type of problems but Climate change adversely affected it too. So, we try to control it before it takes a huge disasters. Nowadays, we start to think that without combat on climate change, we can’t dream about sustainable development in the world .To raise the awareness as well as gain more knowledge about Climate Change
Nepal lies in the Southern Part of Asia ,it occupies just 0.03% of the total area of the earth. It is richer in the natural resources, it is gifted by nature because it is very richer in biodiversity and ecosystem, is the second richest nation in the field of water resources in the world. Although being richness in natural components , it is not far away from Climate Change, Nowadays , it is a victim of climate change and many others natural disasters. Climate change shows its dark side when monsoon was that occurs at time ,Not only that the temperature also increase tremendously all over the country. So that many people suffers from different types of the communicable as well as non-communicable dieases.Monsoon took in this very late ,so that paddy cultivation is adversely affected , due to high temperature paddy plants are dry up
, the country is suffered from thought , many cultivate land change into deserts. Due to high temperature, the water resources are declined day by day. Nepal is the total dependent on the agriculture ,but due to drought , it is sure that country is unable to provide sufficient food to all.Aboves all these incidents are occurred due to Climate change. We can not stop it but we can control it if we want….
Sir, Nepal is suffered from climate change in spite of it is low carbon producing country.(0.025% of total carbon production).The condition of the nation is very worse , if we can’t control it at time ,we will be killed by
naturals disasters like global warming , green house gases, up-rays , flood, earthquakes etc.We want to save the county from climate change and its effects , So we want to put our voice on the World. We think that UN Climate Change Conference is the best platform for us to raise the voice about climate change
